Anne Payne’s Caveman Foods turns six

Ann Payne’s Caveman Foods Ltd, a company that sells water kefir, is celebrating six years in business. The company moved to Ontario in 2011, two years after opening its doors in the United States in 2009.

“We sell our products in natural food retailers in the Toronto area,” says John Ednie, marketing manager for Ann Payne’s Caveman Foods.

Ann Payne’s Caveman Foods Ltd used to sell across their products across Canada, but their reach in 2015 so that the company could continue making a profit.

“When we were selling nationally, the price point became too high,” says Ednie. “Our product wasn’t selling because people didn’t want to pay $5 for a 10-ounce bottle of water kefir.”

Besides reducing the product’s national availability, Ann Payne’s Caveman Foods has found a new label and bottle supplier to reduce costs on products. “We have our 12-ounce bottle down to $2.95.”
