Metro CEO Eric La Flèche says that consumers have switched from fresh to frozen produce due to higher prices. This, of course, has impacted natural health retailers.
Nature’s Vibe Natural Health Products, a store located in Cambridge, Ontario, has moved away from selling produce due to higher prices.
Instead, the store partners with Grand River Organics to offer customers fresh produce in another way. Customers order their produce online and pick it up at Nature’s Vibe once a week.
“Smaller retailers are having troubles selling organic produce due to higher prices and increased competition from conventional grocery stores,” says Liz Buck, General Manager for the natural health retailer.
Buck says that natural health stores are moving away from fresh produce and focusing on natural supplements, vitamins, and other organic products.
