An article in the Vancouver Sun cited B.C. retailers as starting off to a strong start to the 2015 fiscal year.

According to the report by Colliers International Consulting, Apple has been named Canada’s most productive retailer and Weston Group as the largest retailer.

The report, Collier’s spring 2015 National Retail Report, says that B.C.’s first-quarter sales growth were nearly 8 per cent. This is preceded by a strong 2014 where sales worth $66.4 billion were reported. The figure reported by Collier exceeded its own predictions by 0.3 per cent.

Ontario, on the other hand, had sales of $172.6 billion and a 4 per cent growth rate in the first quarter, coming in second after B.C. Alberta, the third biggest retail market in 2014, came in at $78.7 billion in sales.
